Genesina V. Matus

Genesina is a consultant with over 22 years of experience in the insurance industry. She began her career as a claims adjuster and progressed to supervisor and regional trainer for a national insurance carrier. After working for an insurance carrier, Genesina owned her own independent adjusting company for 16 years. Genesina spent a year at a large international consulting company performing construction and equipment evaluations. Genesina's diversified experience allows her to provide consulting services for both property, contents and equipment.

As a construction consultant, Genesina prepared estimates for residential and commercial properties. The projects ranged from hotels, schools, nursing homes, churches and personal residences. She resolved unique environmental issues to assist in promptly getting the building repaired with minimum delays to the business owner.

Genesina handled unique items as an equipment consultant. She completed retail inventories, commercial kitchen evaluations, hotel furniture replacement, personal wine collections, wine making equipment, business equipment, ecclesiastical articles, classic car parts and personal contents.

As an independent adjuster, Genesina handled property and commercial losses to completion. She would take an assignment from beginning to conclusion. She would begin by scoping the loss, writing an estimate to appropriately repair the damages, and then negotiate settlements.

Genesina specialized in personal contents claims with unique and challenging items. Some examples would be private collections of antiques, dolls, porcelain figurines, trains tools, and sports memorabilia. These items propose a challenge when determining replacement cost value but with the proper investigation and tools, an agreed value could be obtained.
